The name of the company ‘PETKOVIĆ-INŽENJERING’ is inscribed on a charter placed in the gilded orb at the top of the tower of the parish church St. Mary of the Visitation at Dolac in Zagreb.
Among other tasks during the tower’s renovation, a new clock mechanism was to be made (old one was no longer there) along with dials and hands. These were to be installed on all four sides of the tower, and in such a way that they resist any weather and that the clock mechanism (supplied by the Lebarović company) and hands were accessible for maintenance.
I can confirm that this demanding task was carried out on overall joy of investors, renovation designers and authorised conservation service, thanks to Mr. Ivan Petković, an engineer who demonstrated his sense of team work and amazing know-how not only from his domain, but also competence in other participants’ professions in renovation of such a significant cultural good (we are dealing with a visual identity of the centre of Zagreb).
The dials and hands were made of stainless steel (inox) and plasticised with polyester protection of persistent colour, the hands were balanced and everything was installed on a subconstruction in order to enable potential repairs for a future renovation of the tower (which we presume is to be done in 100 years).
Therefore I can recommend to my fellow architects, as well as investors, to address the company ‘PETKOVIĆ-INŽENJERING’ with complete trust to carry out their ideas.
